The Weedman Family Charitable Giving Fund operates as a donor-advised fund under the management of Schwab’s DAFgiving360. As a specialized charitable investment account, its sole mission is to provide meaningful support to non-profit organizations.

Giving Guidelines & Eligibility Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for a sponsorship or grant, organizations must meet the following basic requirements:
• Tax-Exempt Status: Must be a registered and well-established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
• Geographic Focus: Programs must directly serve the residents of Ohio County, Kentucky.
• Alignment: The project must clearly address one of the four core pillars: Family Stability, Education, Economic Growth or Cultural Enrichment.
• Professional & Results-Oriented: Emphasizes that the organization’s programs prioritize measurable results over mere activity.
• Fiscal Steward: Organizations that manage donor funds with extreme care and transparency.
2. Our Funding Pillars
• Family Stability: Programs that provide essential services, such as housing assistance, food security, childcare support, or mental health resources.
• Educational Excellence: Initiatives ranging from early childhood literacy, youth enrichment, and special-needs programs to vocational training.
• Economic Vitality: Projects that foster local entrepreneurship, job placement, or financial literacy.
• Cultural Enrichment: Initiatives that enhance the community’s quality of life through the arts and community events that celebrate the unique identity of Ohio County.
3. Types of Support
The Fund typically considers the following types of requests:
• Sponsorships: Funding to support specific fund-raising or community events.
• Program Support: Funding for specific projects or initiatives.
• Operating Support: General funding to help high-performing organizations sustain their daily work.
4. What We Do Not Fund
To remain focused on our mission, the Fund generally does not provide support for:
• Individuals (scholarships or personal assistance).
• For-profit businesses.
• Debt reduction or past operating deficits.
• Religious activities (proselytizing) or purely sectarian purposes.
• Labor organizations.
• Political campaigns or lobbying efforts.
• Lodges or fraterties.
5. Evaluation Criteria
When reviewing applications, the Weedman Family looks for:
• Impact: A clear plan for how the funds will improve the lives of Ohio County residents.
• Sustainability: Evidence that the program can continue to provide benefit beyond the grant period.
• Collaboration: A willingness to work with other local entities to solve community challenges.
• Equity: A commitment to serving diverse populations and reducing barriers to opportunity.
