$5,000 Grant to Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet
New funding will help provide brand-new shoes to Ohio County students in need, removing non-academic barriers to boost school performance.
OHIO COUNTY, KY — The Weedman Family Charitable Giving Fund is proud to announce a $5,000 grant awarded to Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to removing obstacles to optimum student achievement in Ohio County.
A Mission Built Around Every Child
Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet was created with a powerful mission: to make every participating child a "happy" student so they can become a better "learner." The program works directly with Family Resource Youth Service Center (FRYSC) Coordinators at local schools to identify students in need and provide them with a brand-new pair of shoes. Funded entirely through donations and community fundraisers, the program addresses a fundamental, everyday need that can deeply impact a student's confidence, attendance, and school performance.
A Community Investment in Student Success
"Ensuring that children have what they need to feel confident and ready to learn is essential to building a strong foundation for our community," said Chuck Weedman. "By partnering with Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet, we are helping to provide a tangible boost to local students so they can focus on their education and thrive in the classroom."
